Ellie is a registered social worker and therapist from the UK, where she has undertaken all of her clinical and therapeutic training.
Ellie has previously worked for Marble Psychological Services (between 2017-2019) before returning to the UK to complete further therapeutic training. During her time in the UK she has worked predominantly within the National Health Service- providing therapeutic interventions and support to children, young people and their families.
Ellie has completed therapeutic training across a number of evidence-based modalities. These include behavioural therapy approaches, systemic practice (including working with whole families and parents), solution focused and narrative therapy. She is also a trained and accredited Interpersonal Psychotherapist and has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). These approaches are often integrated within Ellie’s work- for example systemic values that the individual isn’t the problem ‘the problem is the problem’ underpin Ellie’s understanding of mental health difficulties- along with viewing difficulties through an attachment and trauma lens.
These modalities enable Ellie to offer support to people experiencing depression, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma and attachment difficulties. She particularly enjoys working with adolescents and young adults, although these models fit for people of all ages.
As a social worker, relationship based practice is a core value and at the ethos of Ellie’s practice- with the recognition that a safe and trusted therapeutic relationship is the foundation of positive change and good outcomes.
Regardless of the therapeutic intervention and modality- Ellie maintains an emphasis on collaborative working (as we are the experts in our own story), warmth and a non-judgemental stance throughout her practice.
